Lobster roll is amazing as are the crab cakes! She uses next to no breading in the crab cakes, so it’s all meat. Best crab cake around. My son loves the pulled pork sandwich. Recommend the blueberry muffins too.

After passing this charming little restaurant many times during our vacation, we decided to stop in and try it. The lobster roll was advertised in their menu to be served tossed in their dill sauce and the picture showed a well dressed lobster roll with the creamy dill sauce mixed through. What we got was not that. Rather we got a dry and bland serving of lobster on top of a toasted roll with wilted lettuce (?). So underwhelmed and unimpressed. My husband even went back in and asked for side cups of the dressing, and once we added that to the rolls they were much better - but still disappointing. Not worth the $$$.

We just found this deli two years ago while vacationing at Holden Beach. Their food is amazing! It was the first place that we stopped at this year. Their crab bisque soup is amazing. Our 4 year old was dipping everything he could find into it and the staff were extremely kind. Highly recommend.

You must stop here if you ever come through the Holden Beach area. Great sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, bran muffins and pies! Indoor and outdoor seating and only a few minutes from the beach. We took our sandwiches to go and ate them on the beach.

Club sandwich was delish!! Everything was so fresh and flavorful. The outdoor screened in dining area was a nice added touch!

No frills deli. Went there for breakfast and had the all pork sandwich which was good but no more than you would expect at a fast food restaurant. The pies looked great but but we didn't try them. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

Wow, went here for lunch today, 5/5/18, and we both had GREAT Reubens.There was a couple of minor errors, but she came out to the screen porch to give us complimentary Key Lime Pie & a big Muffin.Southern caring & hospitality at its best! They absolutely value the customers at Archibald's and I highly recommend you come here & check it out. :-)

We ordered the lobster roll to share. It was okay but not great and not worth the price.

Great little place for lunch. Soups, sandwiches and shrimp burgers are great. Spinach quiche was delicious, too.

I love Archibald's! My boyfriend and I live in Atlanta, and his grandmother lives in Shallotte. Everytime we come visit her, we always have to stop in and eat here!! The food is so delicious, and everyone who works here is so nice and friendly!!! The lady who takes your order at the front is just so sweet! They also make super yummy desserts and quiches. So glad we found this place. Wish we could eat here more!!! Can't wait to come back next trip!!!!

My $35 10 oz lobster roll was on a footlong hotdog bun!! Was soggy in minutes n i finished the whole thing in 5 min so i highly doubt it was 10 oz total w the chips lol. Disappointed bc i look forward to a good lobster roll as soon as beach planning begins. I would recomend finding a lobster roll that is on quality bread NOT hot dog buns. I coulda made 4 of these myself w more lobster for less money 😭

Very hospitable and clean. Food is excellent and priced fair as well.

We decided to eat here today for lunch and we were eager to try a new place to eat. The 4 of us ordered lobster rolls hot with butter. 2 came out ice cold, we did not get our chips until my husband asked, the food took a very long time to get out to us and the staff was not very friendly. We asked for one of the sandwiches to be heated as we ordered and they reluctantly took it back and said “it is hot”. They ended up heating it up. The food was very expensive for not that much quality or quantity of food. We left very disappointed.

Stopped by at closing time and the ladies were so nice!! Great start with the attitudes, then the outstanding sandwiches were a pleasant surprise. Very unique sandwiches and really, really good! Sweet tea was also the best anywhere near the island (really important for a southerner!!)... TRY THIS PLACE for a great meal while supporting the locals...

Have been coming here many years... Their food is always so good. I believe they have changed hands over the years but still continue to make good food. Love the shrimp salad!!!

Holly and the summer squash quiche are awesome! I've also really enjoyed the #7 B.L.E.S.T. Bacon, lettuce, egg salad and tomato. Yummy!

Home of the best crab cakes by Holden! They make them Maryland blue crab style and you can eat them on a sandwich or on a style. The cake is no filler, all thriller! Be sure to call ahead because there is a limited quantity daily.

I had the BELT and my wife tried the new lobster roll. Both were excellent. The lobster roll might be one of the best ever.

During COVID-19 pandemic: there were plenty of signs posted saying that customers were require to wear masks with 2 customers max, which is good, but all three workers were wearing masks inappropriately (noses not covered) and a 3rd customer came in without a mask and they didn't ask her to put on a mask of wait outside. If they're not going to follow basic safety protocols, then I can't recommend them.Food was decent, not particularly memorable. I didn't try the lobster roll.

Every time we visit this clean (they always have a 100.00 food service inspection rating!) little deli, the food is excellent and the service wonderful. Get the Wild Birdie (and ask for it "dirty"--cranberry relish)! Haven't had their breakfast, but next time we visit Holden, will try.

New owners, but they are using Bob and Rose's recipes...so everything is wonderful! Everything from quiche to homemade salads (egg, chicken, tuna) to homemade desserts. Open for breakfast and lunch. Don't miss this little spot!

Really great place for a deli sandwich. They also have soups, pies, cakes, and fresh salads. Probably one of the best places to eat in Holden Beach.

Friendly folks, warm ambiance. We were disappointed in the food we got, though. I got the Beach ball sub, my mom got the crab soup and quiche, and my brother got some barbeque sandwich. There was just something lacking in the taste. Maybe we came on a bad day. There were other items on the menu that looked great, and the pies did look good.

The food was terrible! The chef salad had uncooked zucchini and yellow squash. Besides the squash there was lettuce carrots and cut up meat. Thats was it!This is definitely not a chef salad. The Italian sub was not editable it had some stringy topping that tasted disgusting!
